From notes of Mary Farrall of Cheshire, England as sent to William Farrall of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Bill, James Farrall, great granddad remarried late 1880’s Mary Ann ???. I am sorry I do not have her previous surname; there was a daughter by this marriage, Ethel. Ethel Farrall, b. 20th Sept., 1891. Lived at Whitechurch for a time, later Wolstanton near Newcastle under Lyme. Ethel had two sons and a daughter. I don’t remember Ethel’s married name and have not heard anything of them since 1930. Mary Ann, his second wife visited us at Ellesmere Port 1930 or thereabouts.

Also on the Old Stone Malpas Cemetery is Margareta Lee, who worked for the Cholmondey family. Born 1805, died 1889. She was a “mainstay”. Looked after everyone in the family, no doubt sister of Elizabeth Lee.

William Farrall, born 18th Jan 1808, died 12th July 1838, age 30, married Elizabeth Lee from Bickley, Malpas Parish, born 19 Oct 1810. Married at Collegiate Church, Manchester, 13 Feb 1833. James Lee, father of the above Elizabeth Wilkinson, nee Farrall, died March 16th 1863, age 82 years and was interred at Malpas Church 20th March 1863. (Most of all old stones in Malpas churchyard have deteriorated, very few readable.)

Now coming down to James Farrall (great granddad Farrall). James Farrall, born 8th March 1837, died 6th Nov 1926. Married Millicent Watson from (Elephant and Castle Cottage, Peckforton), born 1842, died 1886. Married on 28th December 1864 at Malpas and lived at Bickley. Children were Wm. Farrall (granddad), born 2.9.1865, died 2.11.33; born at Elephant & Castle Cottage. Elizabeth Farrall, b. 3.5.1867, died ??. Ada Farrall, b. 26.2.1873, died ??. Looked for graves for both but unable to trace, will keep looking. Elizabeth married George Boughey from Malpas; have no dates. Ada married Charles Devlin of Birkenhead; have no dates.

This information Aunt Ada, nee Farrall, gave to Mother & Dad and Mother had entered it in the MacKellar family bible.
