No: 5771, 5 May 1871, Declaration by Samuel Rollins fav. of Charity Geer, wife of Sam. Bradley

On this day, the fifth of the month of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred & seventy one, before me, Thomas Brassard, undersigned Notary Public, duly commissioned and sworn in & for the Province of Quebec, in the Dominion of Canada, residing at Waterloo, in the district of Bedford, in the said Province. Came and appeared Mr. Samuel Rollins, Jr., farmer residing in the Township and County of Shefford, in the said District. Who hath voluntarily declared to us the said Notary, that by and in virtue of a certain deed of sale, from Charles Allen Esquire & Walter A. Taylor all Traders of the Village of Waterloo, made & passed before the undersigned Notary, under date of this day, he purchased acquired for the consideration of five hundred dollars, in United States currency, equal to four hundred & fifty dollars of our Canadian currency, that certain piece, tract and parcel of land lying, being and situate in the said Township of Shefford, being part and parcel of the lot number twenty three, in the sixth range of lots of the said Township of Shefford, being about twelve acres more or less, as the same is more fully described in the said deed of sale. That the said purchase was so made by him, for the sole benefit and advantage of Dame Charity Geer his aunt , actual wife of Mr. Samuel Bradley , carpenter of the said Township [end of original image 1] of Roxton, the said sum of Five Hundred Dollars having been furnished to him by the said Charity Geer, his said Aunt, for the purpose of acquiring the said piece & tract of land, and to hold the same for her and her said husband for & during the course of their natural life. That the said purchase was however made, with the express understanding between himself, and the said Charity Geer, that he the said Rollins, shall be bound & obligated, as he doth hereby bind and oblige himself, his heirs and assigns to make over by good & valid title deed of sale & conveyance or any other deeds or instruments sufficient to transfer the ownership of the said sold piece & tract of land and improvements thereon, unto the said Charity Geer as her legal representatives, whenever required so to do, the whole at the costs and expenses of the latter. Of which said declaration the said Samuel Rollins, Jr. has requested Act to him granted by us the said Notary to avail, as of I am. Whereof act at the Village of Waterloo, in the office of the said undersigned Notary, on the day, month & year first above written under the number five thousand seven hundred and seventy one and signed by the appearer & Notary after due reading. Seven erased words are null. One line extended is good.
