I am a new subscriber to the list and am trying to locate/find the Pocknell family. According to shipping records (that were very difficult to decipher in parts) James and Sarah Pocknell arrived in Australia on the 'Gilmore'. James is described as a farm labourer from Crockenhill, Kent, a Baptist. His parents were Thomas (deceased) and Ann (living). Sarah was from St Saviours Southwork (?? very difficult to read) and her parents John and Elizabeth were listed as dead. They were accompanied by their children John 16, Elizabeth 11, William 9, Mary A. 6, and Isabella 3. I would appreciate any information on this family, or corrections/locations/suggestions with these place names. Thankyou!, Lyn Pritchard
