Description

Family Bible of Patience Emily (Sutton) Hall, wife of Thomas Hall of Dublin, Wayne, Indiana.

cos1776 Note: I have never actually seen this Bible. I first became aware of its existence during correspondence with wardma, a descendant of Emily's son, John W. Hall, who believed the Bible to be in the possession of one of their cousins in Tennessee. It was after that that I found the rootsweb posting below. It would be wonderful to be able to obtain scanned images from the Bible for this research.

Information on this family is from the bible of Emily P. Hall.

"James Hall was born in 1790-was married to Mary Johnson, who was near the same age. They lived in Harrison Co., West Virginia, until they moved with family of nine children to Montgomery Co., Ky. They lived there until his death, was buried in Shilo Cemetery on Kingston River. Died March 16, 1832. He lived a strictly honest life, always manifesting a strong faith in God. His last words were "all is well, all is well.' Mary Hall, his wife, then moved to Rush Co., Indiana, then to Shelby Co. where she lived until her death Feb. 1844. She and her youngest son were buried the same month and the same cemetery (being Brandwine). The son's name was William, aged 12 years. Both died very sudden of diptheria. She often expressed the desire to depart and be with her loved husband and her Savior." signed, Emily P. Hall.

The bible from which the above statement of Emily P. Hall was copied was presented to her by the M.E. Church of Redkey, Indiana, prior to her removal to her new home in Dublin, Indiana. James was a Methodist minister.
