Hi Martha :) Yes, it's very nice meeting cousins! I'm in Northford, Connecticut which is a little east of New Haven.. We're about 8 miles from the coast of CT. The only other thing I have is Christopher's name and his parents.. They have him listed as Christoph which is the way our German friends told us the name is spelled over there.. I have his mother as Gertrud Huber b. 9/4/1786 d. 1813 and his father as Johann Daniel Disque b. 10/9/1775 in Rinnthal, Germany. Don't have a deathdate on him.. Oh.. Gertrud was born in Oggersheim, Germany.. From what I have... it looks like Gertrud and Johann had two sons with the same name.. The one on your side is Christoph b. Nov. 24, 1806. It also says next to his name "kutscher, laborer".. I'm from the other son.. Christoph (with a middle name Jakob) b. Dec. 13, 1808. He married Maria Schaffer also from Oggersheim. They had one son named Jacob Disque b. April 23, 1852. He's my great grandfather. He settled in Syracuse, NY. That's my dad's maternal side. I'm sort of confused.. Katharine Barbara Disque married Adam Knipfer in 1854? And they had a son name Adam Hensler Knipfer? Is that correct? She's the one that was married three times? On your website it said that Adam died before 1883 but I have his death year as 1891. Same man?? Katharine Barbara Disque from what I can tell was first cousins to my great grandfather, Jacob Disque.. Your website is wonderful!! You asked who my father's mother was.. She was Elizabeth Barbara Disque and was born in 1888. All of my Disques settled in the Syracuse NY area because my gr. grandfather Jacob Disque moved there at the age of 19. He was a cigar maker... That's some story about her almost being lost at sea and being saved by the sailors!! Great meeting you! I'd love to see the textfile.. :) Ruth
