Ann - The KNOTT family. Ann, 1790-1874 Ann was born in London on 19 Jan 1790, and christened at the St. Botolph's Church, Bishopsgate, London, 23 Feb 1790. St. Botolph's Church lies about midway between The Tower of London and Liverpool Street Station. Ann WALKER married Kemp KNOTT in the Church of St. Martins in the Fields

    • [superscript 1] ~ today's Trafalgar Square, on 19 Feb 1814. Ann was 25 and Kemp 31

years of age. The only information of their lives in London is a comment in a letter written by John her brother to Ann in South Africa in 1848 that "Mr. MORRIS is still living at your old shop". There is no clue to the location of the shop except that John was living in Spitalfields, so it could probably be in that area. Ann and Kemp had their first born, a son George, christened in the Church of Marylebone, London in 1818. The parish of St. Marylebone is well to the east of Spitalfields.
