As I remember, the bicycle was new and the basket was one that was tossed by someone and daddy straightened it up so it would work ok.

It was a few weeks later I believe that he (Morgan) was run over on his way home from school--or maybe on his way to school.

A month or so later, the folks gave some guy two dollars to repair the bicycle so it could be used again. He did an amazing job and I learned to ride on this bicycle too. This picture was taken I'm pretty sure in 1940.
