Representational artistic image of Nancy Ward, captioned, "Nancy led her tribe to victory." Recorded on page 66 of Diane Silcox-Jarrett's book, Heroines of the American Revolution: America's Founding Mothers, illustrated by Art Seiden.

Factually and historically this representation is not accurate, as it is well-documented that in a battle against the Creek Indians in 1755, after her husband was killed in action, Nanye-hi (as she was known at the time) took up his musket, fought in his place and urged the Cherokees on to victory. Her bravery and heroism was rewarded with the title of honor, Ghighua or Beloved Woman.
