I need to integrate my Theophilus Redfield and Priscilla Grinnell (3) and their ancestors in with yours. Have you done this kind of thing before? This is my first major merge undertaking, how is it best to proceed?
- Hi, thanks for doing this. Unfortunately merging is kind of a tedious process. You need to start with a single page (like this Family page) and merge the two together, so that one contains all the references from the other. For this page, you're going to need to visit both people from your family and make sure they both point to this family page. Then the same thing for each child. Luckily the marriage details are the same for both, so you can just keep the existing one on this page. You'll have to add your sources from the other page though. Ultimately you'll end up with (3) being an empty page, since you've changed everything to link to (1). When it's empty, you can ask a moderator (like me) to delete it.
