Why do the children have the surname Samples instead of Hunt? [4 June 2017]

At first glance, this appears to be an error, yet, if it is, it is propagated into later descendants? Is there an explanation why the children do not use the father's surname? Thanks, --cos1776 16:43, 4 June 2017 (UTC)

Ok. I get it now, but sources are still needed to back all of this up. Per Find A Grave [1], "Simeon married Delila Samples nine children were born of this family. He also raised a family at the same time with Mary (Polly) SAMPLES, Delila's sister eight children were born of this family. He married Polly after Delila's death. Delila's children last names are Hunt. Polly's children went by Samples." --cos1776 18:33, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
