Identity of Hannah Clarke who married, as third wife, Nathan Bushnell of Lebanon. [4 August 2021]

The only readily accessible source that identifies Hannah Kellogg, widow of Nathaniel Clarke, as the third wife of Nathan Bushnell is Find A Grave memorial Hannah Kellogg Clark. Since Nathaniel Clarke died in 1737, she would have been available to marry N. B. in 1751, assuming there was no unrecorded marriage for her in the interim. It would have been unusual, but not unknown, for her to buried with her first husband under his name. She is not mentioned in the abstracts of Nathan Bushnell's conveyance to his son Ebenezer for support in 1753, but that sketch in the Bushnell genealogy does say that she is buried in the same cemetery as N. B. and his second wife. I visited that cemetery sometime around 2005 and found that the monuments and inscriptions were generally in pretty bad shape-mostly sandstone and very eroded. The identification of Hannah (Kellogg) Clarke as Hannah Bushnell is very tentative, but there is no apparent genealogical consideration since no children were involved.--jaques1724 00:50, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
