This page was originally titled Joseph Washburn and Sarah Ames. There are no sources, so the intent of this page must be guessed. However, principals in various related marriages appear to have been combined in a way that did not happen. According to several source, such as Mitchell's History of Bridgewater, and Mayflower Families Through 5 Generations, Joseph Washburn m. Deliverance Orcutt. When he died, she married Abiel Packard whose first wife was Sarah Ames. Thus Joseph Washburn and Sarah Ames did not marry each other.
