Family talk:Joseph Legg and Susanna Sprackling (1)

Family page should have only 1 set of spouses [21 December 2011]

Family pages should have only 1 set of spouses. If Susanna Sprackling married both Joseph Legg and Robert Goddard, a separate family page will need to be created for each marriage. --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:17, 20 December 2011 (EST)

It is of course impossible that she married both men on the same day in the same place. There could of course be 2 Susanna's, but that information is not currently available.--Btomp 23:08, 20 December 2011 (EST)

Since this family page and marriage date are for Joseph Legg and Susanna Sprackling, I am going to remove Robert Goddard as a spouse. I'll also create a new family page for Robert Goddard and Susanna Sprackling, but I'll create a new page for Susanna, since there is currently no evidence presented that they were the same person. If that information becomes available, we can always merge the two pages for Susanna. --Jennifer (JBS66) 05:32, 21 December 2011 (EST)

Robert GODDARD and Susanna SPRACKLING did not marry but they had an illegitimate son Isaac. When Susanna was found to be pregnant and without financial support she was the subject of a Removal Order dated 31 May 1819 requiring her to be removed from the parish of Shipton Gorge, Dorset to the adjoining parish of Loders where she presumably had right of settlement. Isaac was baptised there 19 Sep 1819 as son of Susanna SPRACKLAND. In Isaac SPRACKLEN's subsequent marriage record Robt. GODDARD, Labourer, was entered as his father. Susanna SPRACKLIN, spinster, later married Joseph LEGGE, widower.--Msprackling 06:10, 21 December 2011 (EST)
