Family talk:John Adams and Mary Bommer (1)

Watchers

difficulties [17 January 2012]

The difficulties of working with the name Adams is plain. The children on this page were largely compiled by matching vital records, which would be questionable, but John & Mary (Bomer) Adams seem to be the only couple of those given names in Boston during this time period (excepting Mary (Skeath) (Mortimore) Hill m. 1724 John Adams, shipwright, when she was 48, per TAG 30:18), and the baptisms of most seem to be found at one church, Second Church, adding credence, so hopefully this is correct. Having stumbled onto an existing WeRelate page for Thomas Adams whose only data was an epitaph calculating to a birth in the right year, Thomas was assumed to be John&Mary's son on no other evidence than that. This could easily be wrong. Further work is needed, but there was a need to suggest that indeed a William b. 1726 was the son of a couple m. 1709, and the only way seemed to be to show a coherent string of births covering the gap inbetween. --Jrich 12:38, 17 January 2012 (EST)
