Family talk:Jan Sinnema and Trijntje Miedema (1)

Watchers

Jennifer, why do I get twice Compare if I check on this family but no further action can be taken?--Bensinnema 18:02, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

Do you mean when you go to More>Find duplicates? --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:08, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

Indeed--Bensinnema 18:13, 23 May 2011 (EDT)

If you go to More>Find duplicates but select Exact, Close, Partial match from the drop-down box, you will see the compare button checked pages with Family:Jan Sinnema and Trijntje Miedema (1) at the top of the list. Scroll all the way down, and you will see the same thing at the bottom of the list. When you select Exact & Close match, there are no matches returned, so you are seeing both Compare buttons compressed together on the screen. --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:20, 23 May 2011 (EDT)
But behind each button the name of Jan and Trijntje are displayed, why is that?--Bensinnema 18:45, 23 May 2011 (EDT)
The checked pages with Family:Jan Sinnema and Trijntje Miedema (1) text is somewhat like a standard header and footer that appears on the page. This text is referencing the Family page you want to compare (in this case Family:Jan Sinnema and Trijntje Miedema (1)). It doesn't distinguish between there being matches to compare to or not - it displays the same text regardless. I suppose a better design would be to display something like "no matches" instead, however, the link does provide a handy way to get back to the page your were comparing. --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:51, 23 May 2011 (EDT)
