Probate files of John Hoar, dated 7 Apr 1767, complain of Mr Zebediah Allen about administrator of estate of Mr John Hoar late of Sudbury deceased. This appears to confirm the speculation of Source:Bent, Allen Herbert. Walter Allen of Newbury, Mass., 1640, and Some of His Descendants, p. 9, that Mary was the daughter of John Hoar of Sudbury. [No birth of a daughter Mary was recorded, and John d. intestate and insolvent, so there is no will or distribution to help prove this. Presumably the complaint shows that Zebediah had an interest in the estate, indicating that he had married a daughter of John's.]
