  2. William and Susannah were probably married en route to Missouri. No marriage record has been found for them in North Carolina, Tenessee, or Kentucky counties. It is possible that the Bollinger party wintered in Sumner County, Tennessee. William may have joined the party there, met and married Susannah before reaching Missouri. Another theory is that George Bollinger and Hugh Tinnin met during the Revolutionary War and the two were brought together through this relationship.
