Family:William Shoffner and Minerva Shoffner (1)

DeMoss says 5 sons, 1 daughter all born Haywood County, but census evidence argues that it was Bedford. These children were incorrectly attributed to William Shofner s/o Peter Lee + Elvira Brown. DeMoss gives the lineage of the Shofners of Angelina Tx on page 21. She says that William, who married his cousin Minerva, moved to TN with his brother Daniel A, and William of Peter Lee had no brother named Daniel A. The 1830 Bedford TN census is probably William Shofner s/o Peter Lee, as next door is Peter Shofner, and it's likely that father and son would have lived next door, or in two houses on the same land.
