William Hume of Kentucky may have married several times as the old material states, but not records seem to exist for any of them. We are sure his last and perhaps only wife, was Sarah Benson -- we seriously doubt she had previously married a Mr. Baker, as Dr. Hume stated. The much quoted Culpeper Co., Va. 1782, William Hume--Sarah Baker marriage, may have been instead, for William Hume (George, George) who removed to Madison Co., Ky. by 1810, and with his wife Sarah Ann, reared a large family.
