William Greenough married "Elizabeth Upshall daughter of Nicholas Upshall of Boston" at Boston 4 July 1652 [BVR 39]. (Elizabeth would have been just a few months beyond her fourteenth birthday at marriage, but the records are clear. In 1951 Donald Lines Jacobus studied a number of cases of marriages of women at this age and slightly older [TAG 27:116-18].
