  1.   William Campbell, the father of Blanche's baby, was never married to Blanche. In fact, he was a brother-in-law to David Lambert, Blanche's father, and an uncle to Blanche. His wife Permelia, David's sister, apparently stayed with him and the couple followed David and his family to Finley township in Scott County. None of the details of this sordid situation are known, but it is presumed that Blanche's pregnancy is one of the reasons the family left Howard County and moved to Scott County. She conceived William's child when she was only 16 years old.
