  1. Mary receives a full one-fifth share as one of five sisters of John Edwards Jr. in 1732. The agreement of heirs indicates her husband as Thomas Waite. Source:Hammatt, Abraham. Early Inhabitants of Ipswich, Mass. : Part One, p. 388, does not distinguish clearly between Thomas Waite Sr. and Thomas Waite Jr. (other sources, such as Savage and Hoyt, apparently make the same error). Both were carpenters in Ipswich. However, he notes one interesting fact: "1696, June 26. Mary wife of Thomas Waite, aged 34 years; Thomas Waite, Jun'r, aged 42 years." which matches well with Mary Edwards. It appears Mary was his second wife, after first wife Susanna Ayers died 28 May 1683. Source:Hoyt, David W. Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury, Massachusetts, Vol. 2, p. 806, mentions deeds from "Thomas Wait Sen. and wife Mary" to son Thomas Jr., "weaver", in 1714, 1733, and 1737.
