↑ When interviewed in 1829 (see his person page for source), Thomas said that he had married his second wife at Studley in Warwickshire. Presumably they married between 1782 when Thomas’s first wife Eleanor died and 1798 when Thomas and Elizabeth’s children were baptised. It would appear that the original marriage register for Studley for 1754 to 1793 is lost, covering the period when Thomas and Elizabeth are most likely to have married there. Bishop’s Transcripts survive for some years of the Studley marriages, but there appear to be gaps in the transcripts for 1783, 1785, 1787, 1791 and 1792 for which all marriage records are lost. It therefore seems most likely that Thomas and Elizabeth married at Studley in one of these years.
