  2.   Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Foster Genealogy, p. 526, does not give Mary's parentage. So there is a possibility that Morton is not her maiden name. However, it may be likely that it is, since she and Thomas had 10 children, besides the 8 by his first marriage.
  3.   There are several Thomas Foster's within a decade or so, and at least three besides this one, had wives named Mary so careful attention must be paid to details like towns, and dates, etc. The cousin of this Thomas, s/o Deacon Chillingsworth Foster, lived in Harwich and married Mary Hopkins. An uncle of this Thomas, Thomas Foster of Marshfield married Faith Oakman, and in turn had a son Thomas Jr, who married a Mary Foster of Plymouth and moved to Middleborough. A Thomas Foster of Dorchester, s/o Comfort Foster, married Mary Lyon.
