According to some accounts, Thomas moved his family to London from Scrooby, Nottinghamshire, in order to avoid religious persecution there. These accounts have his would be sons, John, leaving for Holland in 1610 and Robert, being the Robert Dunham transported to Virginia in 1635, never to be heard from again.
