    "BURNAM, Thomas, Sergt., and Mrs. Esther Bishop, 16 : 10 : [1685?]."
[Note: Esther Bishop gave bond as administrator of her husband's estate 2 Mar 1687/88 (e.g., see here). So the guess here of 1685, probably an assumption that Thomas' previous wife died in childbirth of their last known child, is impossible. The first known child of Thomas and Esther is born 29 Jan 1692-3, and since the whole year appears to be a guess, about all that can be said for sure with the given evidence is that the marriage occurred prior to 1693.]

  3.   Some PRF's add a daughter Hannah b. 22 Sep 1697. This is believed to be an assumption based on a birth record in Ipswich VRs, p. 60: "BURNAM, Hannah, d. Tho[ma]s and Ester, Sept. 22, 1767". Since there is no other sign of a Thomas and Esther in the 1767 time period, and the record appears to be just like the other births belonging to this family, one might be tempted to assume a transcription error by the compilers of the VRs, and come to the result shown in the PRF files. From what images can be found online, the birth, before this alleged Hannah, of Benjamin (right side, 4th record) can be found, and the birth after, Phebe (right side, 4th record), can be found but no record of Hannah. Neither was a birth found for Joseph or Elizabeth (attributed to this couple by Source:Burnham, Roderick Henry. Burnham Family, p. 311). There seems to be no probate file for this Thomas. Thus no evidence supporting the assertion of any of these three children has been located.
