Thomas Bowne

THOMAS BOWNE was born on May 25, 1595 in Matlock, Derbyshire, England. This may well have been the date the he was baptized in Matlock, Derbyshire, England. Another source gives July 25, 1595 but most likely from Quaker 7th month. Thomas immigrated about 1649 to Boston from England with his son John and daughter Dorothy. Another source states he came to Boston in 1651. THOMAS died on September 18, 1677 at the age of 82 in Flushing, Long Island, Colonial New Amsterdam. Again other source gives July 18, 1677 and most likely from Quaker 7th month.

1) John Bowne

JOHN BOWNE was born March 9, 1627 in Lime Farm, Matlock, Derbyshire, England. John first married HANNAH FEAKE on May 7, 1656, Flushing, Long Island, Colonial New Amsterdam. John second married Hannah BICKERSTAFF on February 12, 1679/80. John married, for a third time, Mary COCK on April 26, 1693, Flushing, Long Island, Colonial New Amsterdam. John died December 20, 1695, Flushing, Long Island, Colonial New Amsterdam.

2) Deborah Bowne

Deborah BOWNE was born in 1631. Some sources do not list a Deborah.

3) Dorothy Bowne

Dorothy BOWNE was born August 14, 1631 most likely in Matlock, County Derby, England. Dorothy married Edward FARRINGTON before 1655.

4) William Bowne

William BOWNE was born on April 5, 1640 in Matlock, Derbyshire, England.

5) Troth Bowne

Troth (or Truth?) BOWNE was born July 6, 1642 in Matlock, Derbyshire, England. Troth died after 1676.
