When Theodore registered for the draft for World War I, he was living at 280 Margaret Harbor in Clinton, New York. He was 37 years old. His wife was Ida May Gladieux. He was described as of medium height, medium build with brown eyes and brown hair.

Theodore's obituary reads, "Mrs. Mary V. Gladieux, 1209 Anthony boulevard, received word ot the death of her son, Theodore Gladieux, 46, which occurred Friday at this home in Plattsburg, New York. Mr. Gladieux served many years in the United States army, but for the past six years he had been employed as a guard in the Dannemora state prison. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ida Gladieux; mother, Mrs. Mary Gladieux; one brother, Charles J.; six sisters, Mrs. Louis Vanderlay, Mrs. Frank Roussey, Mrs. Charles Trane, Mrs. Henry Mennnick, Mrs. Joseph Dager, Mrs. Edward Oberley; two half-brothers, Louiis J. and Francis C. Gladieux; one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Pappert of Detroit. The body will be brought to Fort Wayne Tuesday and will be taken to the home of the sister, Mrs. Edward Oberley, at Zulu. He is buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.
