- ↑ It is not known when Stephen m. Ann. Perhaps his earlier wife died soon after immigration and he married Ann bef 1640 before any of the New England children were born? Bef 1653 is used because the second daughter named Elizabeth is the first child documented to be her. Possibly, the marriage to Ann could have been the cause of his change in residence to Haverhill (wild guesswork). In the death of the first daughter Elizabeth, Ann is named as mother, but because it is a different town than where she was born, it is not clear if that reflects her mother at birth or just her mother at the time.
