This is 17 years after their previous child when the father is about 64, and seems extremely unlikely. No gravestone has been located and the original records do not seem to be online. There is a birth recorded for John Payson 31 Oct 1797 to Nehemiah and Sarah (1:55), and it seems likely there is some confusion and/or misrecording here.
