[This has to be a misreading of 1720, as Lydia was mentioned as the mother in the birth records of 3 of Samuel's children before the 1726 date given here, the first in 1721. See the Littleton Records.]

  2.   Source:Dudley, Dean. History of the Dudley Family : With Genealogical Tables, Pedigrees, and C, p. 559, says Samuel moved to Sutton about 1728, but does not include any of the children found in the Sutton records as Samuel's. Since the children of son Samuel and his wife Abigail explicitly identify their father as Samuel Jr., and are confirmed as Samuel Jr.'s by listings in the Littleton records as well, and based on naming patterns (esp., Lydia and Paul), several of these Sutton births (Benjamin, Paul, and Lydia) must be Samuel Sr.'s children.
