Baker, Mary [wid. int.], and Sam[ue]l Balch, jr., of Beverly, at Beverly, Jan. 11, 1710-11. [int. also recorded]

Three sources, three different dates! It is not clear where the Balch Genealogy got their date from, as it does not agree with either of the two vital records, and it is probably the least credible of the three. The discrepancy between the two vital records could possibly be explained by misinterpretation of the 11th month erroneously as November, instead of January, combined with the Gregorian calendar shift. The most likely case then would be that the Salem date is probably correct. However, on the other hand, it barely leaves 9 months before the baptism of their first child.
