↑ The basis for the marriage date of 4 Jun 1734 has not been found, and some doubt is raised as the oldest child reported for this couple is born 1744. The oldest source giving it seems to be Source:Whitney, Henry Austin. Brief Account of the Descendants of John and Elinor Whitney, of Watertown, p. 18, but that source only identifies a widow Sarah, suggesting no marriage record was found. This date is copied by other sources, such as Source:Whitney Research Group (WRG), here, apparently having no further evidence than this source.
