- ↑ The records found so far paint a confusing picture. New Bedford VRs list the birth of Sarah Elizabeth Wood in 1843 to parents Richmond B Wood and Emeline M. Lewis (Sarah d. 1845). However, Emeline is not listed in the household of Richmond Wood in 1850, but is in 1855. Emeline is also listed as Henry's mother in his marriage and death record. So she certainly married by 1843 and it seems likely, though it need'nt be so, that she is the mother of son Dennis b. 1839.
