  1.   Faxon, George L. (George Luther). The history of the Faxon family, containing genealogy of the descendants of Thomas Faxon of Braintree, Mass: with a map locating the homesteads of the first four generations; accompanied by copious abstracts from the records of deeds and probate.. (Springfield, Massachusetts: Springfield Print. Co., 1880).

Richard (Thomas3, Richard2, Thomas1) was born in Braintree on Sept 4, 1686, son of Thomas3 and Mary (Blanchard) Faxon.

Richard was the Town Clerk for 17 years and in recording the name of his wife, he uses 'Anna or Hannah. This shows that these names were considered the same... His writing upon the records, exact, clear and of the full, round hand, is one of the best specimens of the period. He seems to have fully appreciated the importance of a complete and correct record".

He and his wife were members of the Middle Precinct Church and are buried in the ancient cemetery opposite the church in a lot near the iron fence on the street. Children born in Braintree:
