↑ Some secondary sources identify the wife of Noah Chaffee as the daughter of Noah Carpenter, even though she would be only 16 at the time of marriage (e.g., Source:Powell, Ruth Maxine Burr. Burr-Bowles Genealogy), but this is easily shown to be wrong. The will of Abiah Carpenter of Rehoboth, dated 4 Apr 1732, names granddaughter Sarah Chaffee (see Source:Rounds, H. L. Peter. Abstracts of Bristol County, Massachusetts Probate Records, p. 203).
