Mrs. Van Syckel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson Shaffer of LaFouche parish and sister of Mrs. S. I. Reymond of this city, whom she has visited numbers of times making numerous friends by her beauty and the charm of her personality.
Rev. Van Syckel is a priest of the Episcopal Church and a member of the faculty of the Theological School at Nashotah, Wis.
The social prominence of both Rev. and Mrs. Van Syckel makes the news of their marriage of more than passing interest.
