Family History

Two months after her arrival in Utah, Eliza Smuin married Michael Clark, the ceremony being performed October 28, 1861. She was a plural wife. Michael Clark's wife, who he married on September 24, 1859, being Harriet Smuin, a daughter of Joseph Smuin [and Esther Hannah Pearce], who also came from England. [Eliza was a Neice of Harriet's.]

The second marriage of Michael and Eliza took place when, due to ill health, Michael had been released early from prison where he had been serving a sentence for polygamy.
