Lemuel Cooper was born in Delaware Co. Ohio March 31, 1834 and came to Indiana with his parents. It was here that he met Nancy A. Bever, whom he married July 25, 1860. She was born September 9, 1831, I believe in Fountain Co. Her parents were Joseph and Barbara Cain Bever. Lemuel passed away October 30, 1906 and Nancy on January 29, 1916 and both were laid to rest in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. They had only one daughter:

1. Georgia Cooper was born August 20, 1863 in Fountain Co. and on August 6, 1884 she married Thomas B. Newkirk. I have no information on him only his death date which was September 9, 1890. She passed away December 9, 1915 and both were laid to rest in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. They have two children:
a. Halcie Newkirk, born July 21, 1885 and passed away January 5, 1916 and was laid to rest also in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.
b. Zelma Newkirk was born April 15, 1888 in Fountain Co. In. and on July 14, 1913 she married Dr. Ross Ellis who was born June 26, 1890, the son of Christopher and Ella (Hughes) Ellis. Zelma passed away July 1, 1981 and Dr. Ellis in November or December of 1982. They too were laid to rest in Waynetown. They were the parents of two children:
