The Intentions of marriage Between mr Josiah Cooledge of Weston and mrs Sarah Muzzy of Sudbury were Entered and Published in Weston June the 20th 1766.

  3.   Several sources, probably copying from Bond, identify Josiah's second wife as widow Sarah Muzzy while making no attempt to identify her further. However, "Mrs." at this time did not necessarily mean a married woman, so it is possible she was not a widow, though that seems most likely, given the age of Josiah. A possible candidate is the "Mrs. Sarah Pope" who married in 1753 Joseph Muzzy of Sudbury. He d. 1757, killed by lightning. She was his 2nd wife, since he married (1) 1721 Patience Rice, who d. age 40, about 1745. It is not known if Pope is her maiden name, or a name from a previous marriage. This is all fairly speculative, based on nearby deaths of Mr. Muzzy's who had a wife named Sarah.
