The 21 Aug date was chosen as primary solely because it is used by the article in MD, Vol. 56, p. 50, and so is more likely to be what people expect to see. However, the footnotes of the article only cite the record on 17:82 with no mention of the record on 17:143 or indication that it was seen, and certainly no discussion of which might be the actual marriage date.
