The Memorial of John SlafterS1 states that Joseph Spaulding married "Hannah, dau. of John Spaulding of Monson, Mass., Dec., 1791," and that the first four of their children were born in Guilford, VT, while the rest were born in Jay, NY, where they later resided. It does not state a place of marriage, though the fact that the first children were born in Guilford (where Joseph himself was born and lived) makes that location probable. The Memorial gives the following information on their children:

1. Chauncy, b. May 2, 1795, m. Margaret Kennedy.
2. Abigail, b. June 10, 1797, m. Eli-Beckwith Hull.
3. Charlotte, b. Dec. 25, 1799; m. Ezra-G. Varney, and had (1.) Ezra, (2.) Charlotte, (3.) Orilla.
4. Lyman, b. March 15, 1802; m. 1st, Mary Hamilton; 2d, Sarah Ingals.
5. John, b. July 7, 1804, m. Martha Potter.
6. Joseph, b. April 9, 1807, d. Sept. 23, 1857, m. Marcia Trumbull.
7. George-Washington, b. June 15, 1810, m. 1st, Harriet Trumbull; 2d, Candace-Arabella Temple.
8. De Witt, b. July 16, 1812, m. Roxa Thomas.
9. Andrew Jackson, b. Aug. 18, 1814, d. March 24, 1854; m. Mary Dudley, and had

(2.) Samuel, who in war of rebellion was in Comp. A, 1st Colorado Cavalry
(3.) Dillon-Pomroy, in Comp. H, 32d Wisconsin Vols.
