  4. 4.0 4.1 Note: Barry in 1847, and Temple in 1887, were consulted since the published VRs show the marriage in 1723, after the birth of the eldest son. Since both works precede the publishing of the VRs, they probably would have needed to refer to the original record, though Temple may have merely copied from Barry? No clear answer is apparent. All seem to agree on the birth date of the son, but reports differ as to the year of the marriage. Probably Temple read the records differently, as he says nothing about the discrepancy in Barry. There is room for Joseph's birth to be 1723/24, also, since Hannah's birth isn't until July 1725.
