  4. Preston was not incorporated until 1686. Franklin was taken off from Norwich and incorporated in 1786. It appears that the bride's family was living in Norwich West Farms, now Franklin, and the groom's family either in the southeastern part of Norwich or in the unincorporated area which became Preston.
