'The will of John Turney is referred to in that of his widow Alice, made 31 Dec. 1551, proved 16 Jan. 1551/2, ... Alice was widow of Thomas Gurney of Broughton Abbots in Bierton, Bucks, who died 1528-9. She was probably a Sheppard of Littlecott.'
