  1. Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, Vol. 2, p. 592, adds a daughter Mary, bp. Watertown 6 Apr 1712 to this family. This cannot be! This is 41 years after the first child was born, and 12 years after their previous child who is already pushing the limits of child-bearing age. The baptism record has not been found, so it is difficult to figure out what could have fooled Mr. Hudson. If it was an adult baptism perhaps, but then how is the association to the parents made? It is probably related to the Woburn family of John Russell and Elizabeth Palmer, who had a daughter Mary b. Woburn 1703 who d. 1709, and may well have had another daughter Mary. Their last child in the Woburn records is Thomas b. 1705. But without knowing what the baptism record says, this is all speculation.
