  5. Births and Deaths of Cowley County, Kansas
Cowley County, Kansas - right on the Oklahoma border - was a main staging area for the Cherokee Strip Run on September 16, 1893. 15,000 people were involved and many who couldn't make claims stayed in the area.
  6. County marriage record indicates Susanna Gilbert married J. D. Parkison. Gilbert must have been her married name because on her Death Certificate her father is listed as John P. Hedges. However, the Marriage records identify her as "Miss." Prior marriage to Gilbert supported by photo which identifies her as Susanna Hedges Gilbert Parkison.
