John McDonald Baily, born February 19, 1834 in Kentucky and on October 28, 1852 in Fountain Co. In. he married Charity Furr. This marriage ended in divorce and she later married Perry Parker on December 10, 1882. John was a farmer and served as Sheriff of Fountain Co.. He passed away in Danville, Ill. on October 5, 1909 and was laid to rest in Rockfield Cemetery. The children are:

a. America I. Baily was born in 1853 in Fountain Co. no further.

b. Indiana Charity Baily was born April 1, 1856 in Fountain Co. and on September 28, 1872 she married Andrew Jackson Patterson who was born in 1849 the son of Thomas (b.1823- Ky) and Jane (B-Ky 1824) Patterson. Indiana passed away November 19, 1942 and Andrew in 1936 and they both were laid to rest in Centenniel Cemetery, south of Veedersburg in Millcreek Township. They had six children:
i. Ada Patterson died before she was one year old.
ii. Clara Patterson, died of Spinal Meningitis.
iii. Charles Patterson, born in December 1876 and married a lady named "Belle" and they had one daughter:
1. Maude Patterson, born in 1903. I'm not certain if this is their son but I didn't want to leave it out if it was.
iv. Emma Charity Patterson was born May 26, 1878 in Fountain Co. and on September 15, 1895 she married Austin Myers, born in 1874 and passed away in 1939. She passed away June 21, 1965 and they both are buried in Centenniel Cemetry. They have three children.
v. Mae Patterson, born in January 1881 in Fountain Co. and passed away in 1972. She married Charles McCormick and they had two children:
vi. Clyde Patterson, born August 1883 and passed away in 1926.
vii. John W. Patterson, born in October 1886 in Fountain Co. In. and married Irma Glover, born in 1888. She passed away in 1958 and he in 1969 and they both were laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. They have seven children:

c. Charles W. Baily, born September 14, 1858 and passed away in 1871

d. John R. Baily was born in 1868 a and was adopted by John and Charity, but actually was the son of Thomas and Jerusa Baily. Thomas was a brother to John and passed away in 1868 as did his wife.

This concludes the family of John M. Baily and most of it was done by birth and death records as well as some information from Mrs. Cunningham.
