FROM GENEALOGICAL ABSTRACT OF REVOLUTIONARY WAR PENSION APPLICATIONS:

Herring or Hering, Jesse wife Naoma or Enomy/Enomey W7725, BLW #30909-160-55, N. C. Line, soldier was born 31 Aug. 1762 in Wayne Co, N. C. and he lived there at enlistment and in 1795 he moved to Darlington Dist S. C. then moved to Walton Co., Ga. Soldier applied 23 Nov. 1832 Gwinnett Co., Ga. and he died there 8 Dec. 1834 or 7 Dec. 1835 (both dates were shown), soldier had married Enomy or Naoma Jones or Smith on 10 June 1793 in Darlington Dist. S. C. (widow stated in one aff'dt that her name before marriage was Jones and in one she stated Smith) widow applied 6 July 1855 Cherokee Co, Al. aged 82, children were Alen H. born 10 May 1794, David born 6 Sept. 1797, Alexander born 14 Oct. 1800, Frederick born 20 Oct. 1804, James G. H. born 28 Jan. 1807, Daniel born 6 July 1809, Jesse P. born 28 June 1811 and Elizabeth born 2 June 1815.

Georgia Military Pensions, rolls of 2835; Gwinnett County, Georgia Jesse Herring, age 72, served as Private of Cavalry, Georgia Militia. Pension started August 27, 1833, annual allowence $27.33, total to date $82.05.
