    "Appeared personally James KING and made Oath, that he is of the Parish of Saint Martin of the Fields in the County of Middlesex, a bachelor of the age ????? years ????? and intendeth to marry Mary Maria Melliss of the Parish of St Pancras in the same County, Spinster, a minor of seventeen years ???? by and with the consent of John Melliss the natural and lawful father of the said minor and that he knoweth of no lawful impediment, by reason of any pre-contract, consanguinity, affinity, or any other lawful means whatsoever, to hinder the said intended marriage, and prayed a Licence to solemnize the same in the Parish of Saint Pancras and further made oath that the usual place of abode of the said Mary Maria Melliss hath been the said Parish of Saint Pancras for the space of four weeks last past.

    Then appeared personally the said John Melliss of the Parish of St Pancras also and made oath that he is the natural and lawful father of the above mentioned Mary Maria Melliss the aforesaid minor that he is consenting to the above intended marriage"
